The worst performers of the session were Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (T:), which fell 4.26% or 250.0 points to trade at 5620.0 at the close. Credit Saison Co., Ltd. (T:) declined 3.48% or 52.0 points to end at 1444.0 and Showa Denko K.K. (T:) was down 3.07% or 130.0 points to 4105.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1885 to 1578 and 257 ended unchanged.
